No person shall be appointed as Jail Non-Officer Rank of the BJMP unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:

1. A citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
2. A person of good moral character;
3. Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
4. Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
5. Must possess appropriate eligibility (Second Level eligibilities: CSE-Professional, RA 1080, and Penology Officer Examination, etc);
6. Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment;
7. Must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
8. Must be at least one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57 m.) in height for male, and one meter and fifty-two centimeters (1.52 m.) for female (per Republic Act 11549 or the PNP, BFP, BJMP, and BuCor Height Equality Act);
9. Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5 kgs.) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age, and sex.; and
10. Must not be less than 21 years old and not more than 30 years old at the time of appointment to BJMP Service.
